Frequently Asked Questions
The EIC led public-private dialogue forums
What is PPD tracking platform, and what is it for?
This PPD tracking platform is a digital platform developed by the Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC) to support collaboration among government institutions, businesses, and other stakeholders in shaping and implementing Public-Private Dialogues (PPDs).
Its purpose is to strengthen communication and transparency by allowing key stakeholders to view the progress of issues raised during PPD sessions and provide feedback on their status.
How often does the Ethiopian Investment Commission organize Public-Private Dialogues, and how are they announced?
PPD sessions are conducted as part of the Ethiopian government’ and EIC’s ongoing efforts to improve the investment climate in line with the Home-Grown Economic Reform 2.0.
There is firm commitment from the EIC side to make PPDs structured and regular. The EIC conducts at least two high-level, FDI focused PPDs annually to gather and address investor concerns.
Announcements are made through official press releases and media platforms.
How is a PPD session structured, and who participates?
PPDs follow a structured process that begins with the identification and prioritization of private-sector concerns. These issues are gathered through chambers, investors’ associations and forums.
Sessions are chaired by EIC and bring together relevant government ministries and agencies, chambers, business associations, private-sector representatives, anchor investors, and development partners. This inclusive structure ensures that solutions are discussed by the right decision-makers.
What kinds of issues can be raised through the PPD platform?
Any challenge that affects the business and investment environment can be submitted including regulatory barriers, administrative delays, infrastructure bottlenecks, fiscal issues, and sector-specific constraints.
The goal is to ensure that policy and decision makers receive evidence-based feedback from the private sector and act on issues that impact ease of doing business.
By enabling transparency and real-time feedback, these portals help public institutions make more responsive decisions and ensure that dialogue outcomes remain traceable and accountable.
